Central Province GMAs

Mumbwa – 3,370 sq. km
Miombo woodland, dambos, rocky outcrops, pans and grassy wooded areas. There are a number of dams and seasonal rivers and streams, there are some dambos and floodplains. The most permanent river is the kafue.

Wildlife is common and those present include African Elephant, Hippopotamus, African Buffalo, Zebra, Warthog, Bushpig, Lion, Leopard, Spotted Hyena, Eland, Sable Antelope, Roan  Antelope, Hartebeest, Greater Kudu, Waterbuck, Puku, Reedbuck, Bushbuck, Impala, Oribi, Common Duiker and Nile Crocodile.

Chisomo – 3,390 sq. km
There is  a variety of habitat types among them miombo woodland, rocky out crops, dambos, open woodland.

Wildlife though much depleted includes African Elephant, Buffalo, Warthog, Greater Kudu, Bushbuck, Impala, Hartebeest, Waterbuck, Common Duiker and Grysbok.

Kafinda – 3,860 sq. km
This borders the Kasanka National Park in the Bangweulu basin area. Most of the GMA is miombo woodland with open plains and areas of swamp.

Wildlife present include Black Lechwe, Sitatunga, Puku, Reedbuck, Defassa Waterbuck, Hartebeest, Common Duiker, Kinda Baboon, Vervet Monkey, Warthog and Bushpig
