Tourism and Arts Minister Ronald Chitotela has commended Manda Hill Mall Management for the shopping centre’s contribution to tourism.
Speaking when he graced the 20th Anniversary of the mall, the minister said Manda Hill, has contributed to the Zambian retail and tourism industry.
He said that it is time that we celebrate the first mall that has brought so much pride to the nation.
He encouraged the local tenants to continue the efforts put into growing a great brand such as Manda Hill.
Hon. Chitotela said the mall is often used as a reference; many malls have a lot to learn from it.
The Pambashe Law maker said for the last 20 years the mall has contributed to Zambia’s Gross Domestic Product.
He said the mall has been home to many businesses that have out rightly contributed to providing employment to the Zambian population.
The Minister agreed with the saying that, ‘you have not been to Lusaka if you have not been to Manda Hill.
He said foreign visitors have this echoed to them when they arrive in Zambia, and hence it has in time become a tourist attraction.
