Tourism and Arts Permanent Secretary, Howard Sikwela, has advised wildlife officers to get personal life insurance covers.
Reverend Sikwela says in as much as the government may have compensation programmes, it is important for the wild life officers to also get their personal life insurance covers.
He has told ZNBC News in an interview, in Livingstone, that the move will help alleviate the suffering that families usually go through after losing their bread winners.
Reverend Sikwela has also advised the tour operators to put in place life insurance schemes for their employees.
He further advised tour operators, especially those operating within the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, to ensure transport to and from work, is always provided to their employees to avoid loss of lives.
Reverend Sikwela said it is important that tour operators take the safety of their employees seriously.
