Government says the creative industry has the capacity to change the face of the country’s economy.
Tourism and Arts Minister Charles Banda says film industries generate billions of dollars every year.
Dr Banda said this in a speech read on his behalf at Lusaka Golf Club last night by Ministry of Tourism Chief Cultural Affairs Officer Joseph Mwansa during the 2018 African Inspiration Fine Arts Exhibition.
He said government sees art as an emerging economic activity that can transform people’s lives through job creation and income generation.
At the same function, African Inspiration Fine Arts Exhibition Chairperson Aaron Chungu said his organisation is looking forward to developing on-line marketing system of Zambia’s artistic products.
And Lusaka Golf Club Captain Noel Nkhoma said his club is now hosting the African Inspiration Fine Arts Exhibition twice a year.
This year’s African Inspiration Fine Arts Exhibition drew 20 participants.
