Southern Province GMAs

Sichifulo – 5,175 sq. km
Heavily settled in some portions of the GMA. There are dambos, pans and pools, THe woodland types are mopane and miombo, with areas open grassland and thickets.

Species in existence are African Elephant, African Buffalo, Zebra, Hartebeest, Sable and Roan Antelope, Greater Kudu, Waterbuck, Blue Wildebeest, Reedbuck, Impala, Oribi, Common Duiker, Warthog, lion, Leopard, Wild dog and Spotted Hyena.

Mulobezi – 3,430 sq. km
There is mopane, miombo, termitaria and munga woodland. There are patches of grassland, thickets, dambos and pans.

Wildlife includes African Elephant, African Buffalo, Zebra, Waterbuck, Hartebeest, Sable Antelope, Roan Antelope, Greater Kudu, Blue Wildebeest, Impala, Reedbuck, Common Duiker, Oribi, Warthog, Lion and Leopard

Namwala – 3,600 sq. km
Open grassland, miombo woodland, dambos and thickets. Much settled  and the wildlife is heavily depleted.

Species present include Hartebeest, Reedbuck, Greater Kudu, Waterbuck, Blue Wildebeest, Roan and Sable Antelopes, Oribi and impala

Nkala – 194 sq. km
There are open grassland, floodplain, dambos – Miombo and munga woodland. There are a number of large  to medium sized dams.

Species present include African Elephant, Buffalo, Zebra, Warthog, Hartebeest, Blue Wildebeest, Greater Kudu, Reedbuck, Bushbuck, Puku, Impala, Oribi and Common Duiker.

Bilili – 3,080 sq. km
Mopane, miombo and kalahari woodland. Areas of grassland and dambos.

Heavily settled and most of the larger mammals are all but depleted.
