Minister of Tourism and Arts Charles Banda has called for investment in infrastructure development at tourist sites in Northern Province.
Mr. Banda told ZANIS that having the necessary facilities at the tourism spots is key in boosting tourist arrivals in the region which is endowed with a number of natural wonders.
He has since expressed hope that the forth-coming Northern Province Expo will help to attract the required investment into the tourism sector.
Mr. Banda was speaking when he recently visited Kalambo Falls in Mbala district in the company of prospective investors, ministers and Members of Parliament.
Northern Province is slated to host an investment and tourism exposition from the 20th to 24th November, 2018 along-side a commemoration to mark one hundred years since the end of the World War one.
The First World War ended in Mbala where German troops under the command of General Von Lettow Vorbeck formally surrendered to British Forces on 25th November, 1918.
